How to play


2048 Legend is a number sliding game. Here, you must use the arrow keys in your keyboard to slide number blocks into other number blocks.


The numbers will slide all the way to the other side of the direction you've selected, into other number blocks. 2 blocks will slide into another 2 block, and form a single 4 block. 4 blocks will slide into another 4 block, and will form an 8 block, and so forth. By uniting these numbers, you will free space in the board for more blocks. The highest number block you can get, is 2048.



More tiles are added to the board every turn and only identical numbers can be combined. Once the board is full and no more tiles can be combined, the game is over. 


This is how the game looks like on your screen:




  1. Scoring. This section has your current score and the highest score achieved in the game.
  2. Game area. This is where the game is played.
  3. Pause menu. Pause the game here.
  4. Sound. Click on this icon to mute the game sound.
  5. Undo/Restart. With these options, you can undo your last move and restart the whole game. 


Here is the game menu. You can click on the play icon to return to the game, and on the home icon to exit the current game.




Tips


Here are some practical tips to improve your 2048 gameplay:


1. Pick a Corner

  • Always try to move your largest tile to one corner and keep it there. Build around this corner to avoid spreading high-value tiles all over the board.

2. Plan Your Moves

  • Don’t make random swipes! Think about how each move will shift the board and set you up for future combinations.

3. Avoid the Top Row (if not using it as your corner)

  • If your highest value is in the bottom-right corner, avoid creating high-value tiles on the top row. It disrupts your flow.

4. Don’t Rush

  • Take your time to analyze the board. Moving too quickly often leads to mistakes.

5. Keep Your Board Tidy

  • Keep the smaller tiles close to your largest tile. This allows for easier combinations.

6. Avoid the Opposite Corner

  • Don’t move your highest tile away from your chosen corner. It’s tough to get it back!

7. Prioritize Horizontal or Vertical

  • Decide early whether you’ll prioritize horizontal or vertical movements and stick to that strategy.

8. Build Chains

  • Work to merge smaller tiles strategically, so you’re consistently combining and making room.

9. Practice Patience

  • Sometimes, avoiding a tempting merge can lead to a better setup in the next move.

10. Undo When Possible

  • If playing on a platform that allows undos, use them wisely to learn from mistakes.

EXAMPLE: combining two 32s will add 64 points to the score


This continues indefinitely until the game ends.


There are no special bonuses or penalties.


Undoing a match will remove the score it added.
