How to play

Room Escape is a game about solving puzzles to exit a locked room. You can interact with any detail of the room, gather clues, and solve puzzles, finding a way to escape it. The main menu will present you with the following:

You can turn the sound of the game on and off by clicking the icon on the top right. You can click the play button next to Daily to play the daily puzzle, or Levels to choose a level from the archive.

Guides will take you to a Youtube page where you can consult video guides for each of the levels. Tutorial will take you to a small, example level to teach you how to play.

We recommend playing the Tutorial before playing any of the game's levels.

When playing the game, you'll be taken to a room like this:

The main objective of the game is to find the room key and escape out the front door. For this, you have to click around the room, interact with objects, find clues, collect items and solve puzzles.

If you're stuck, you can play a Video Hint by clicking on the top right. The game will always have some Helpful Messages introducing the game, hung on the wall.

The Inventory, where you collect any useful items you find, is on the right. You can click on any of the items and on Inspect Item to place it in the middle of the screen for a closer look. Once you're done inspecting it, you can click on the X to place it back on your inventory.

Inspect Item also makes items interactive. You can click on items as if you would around the room, by using it. If you'd like to combine an item with another, such as place batteries in a flashlight, inspect the Flashlight, then click on the batteries and click on the flashlight to place them.

You can use the Side arrows to move around the room. You can click on any of the room elements to zoom in. Furniture such as cabinets can be clicked on when zoomed in to be opened.

You can then exit the zoom by clicking on the lower screen arrow.

Let's take a look at a puzzle example. This, is a Color Lock. To open it, you need to pick the right colors with the arrows above and below. If you look around the room, you'll find clues that indicate the right colors.

For example, these colorful book spines look suspicious. Why don't we insert these as the colors in the Color Lock?

And presto! We've unlocked the cabinet. Inside, is a useful clue with the letter "z". This, could solve a puzzle such as a Letter Lock.

This is a Letter Lock. You can solve it by finding the letters hidden around the room that fit the lock. One such letter can be the clue in the cabinet.

This is a Combination Lock. You can find the combination around the room, and spin the three different circles to open the lock. Three numbers are needed.

These numbers tend to be hidden around the room in places such as the hands of a clock. If you try the exact numbers of the hour, minute and second, the lock might open.

This is a Number Pad. This combination requires 5 numbers, as seen from the spaces on the bottom. If you find somewhere that may contain five numbers, try it.

There are many other kinds of puzzles in Room Escape. One example is this one. This is a Memory Game. You can click on the tiles to find others of the same color. When you match all of the same color, something unlocks.

There are many other puzzles to discover in the game. Part of the fun of the game, is to discover what can be a puzzle, or pointing you to something interesting.

Lastly, items from your Inventory can be used in a variety of ways. Here is an example.

Here, you can select a key from your inventory and click on the door lock. This will solve the puzzle.

Be sure to explore and investigate all possibilities when solving the many room puzzles.

Scoring

Room Escape has no scoring system. This game is meant to be a fun daily puzzle, without a specific scoring system or leaderboard. The game is incompatible with the regular competitive Arkadium leaderboards, and it's meant for simple fun progression.
