How to play
Crossworlding is a game in which you swap letters to complete all of the words in each level. It's a cross between Crosswords and Worldle-type games. The objective, is to guess where each letter should be to create the correct words.
While playing, you will be able to see which letters fit in the correct place via the color of each of them.
- When you have a Green Letter, it means that the letter has been placed correctly, in the correct place of the word.
- When you have a Yellow Letter, it means that while this letter belongs in this word, it's in the incorrect place. Try and find where it goes.
- When you have a Blue Letter, it means that the letter does not belong in this word, and you should try other letters.
When starting the game, you can select your prefered language out of six different options. This will be the language chosen for the entire game.
You will then see the puzzle screen. The game is played by clicking on the available letters to switch them, with the moves that are available to you. Click on the letter you'd like to switch, then click on the letter you'd like to switch it to. Your number of moves above will decrease by one.
As seen here, you must use the moves available to you to switch the letters correctly. Yellow letters belong within the same word, while grey letters belong in different words.
Here is how the game is structured:
- Exit. This will exit the current puzzle and take you to the main menu.
- Help. This option will provide you with a guide to the game.
- Moves. The moves counter will let you know how many moves you have left.
- Coins. This lets you know how many coins you have. You can use these to buy boosts.
- Undo Boost. This boost allows you to undo your last move. These boosts are limited to the number shown next to them.
- Auto Swap Boost. This boost allows you to automatically swap two letters correctly. These boosts are limited to the number shown next to them.
When finishing a puzzle, you'll have a results screen. First, you'll see how many moves you will have left. It's possible to finish a puzzle without using up all of your available moves.
Then, you'll see a full results screen with all of the bonuses that your moves have granted you. First off, you'll see the Best performance in the level you've done so far, and the comparison to the performance You've just had.
You'll also see a present and a card icon. The present relates to the Rewards you can gather. By adding 12 moves to the present counter, you'll achieve a reward, such as a number of coins or boosts. The Card relates to the Chapters. By filling the chapter icon, you can gain new backgrounds to the game. All of this can be checked by clicking on the icons.
