BACK TO THE GAME

This article contains everything you need to know about Arkadium’s Ancestral Lines Game.

Use the list below to navigate specific topics about Ancestral Lines.

How to play

Ancestral Lines is a fun puzzle game of placing generations of a family in their spot by following logic clues.

Using the clues provided down below, you have to insert the people in the family tree. Click on the icons and drag them to the place of the tree where they belong.

When you've completed each level, you'll receive rewards.

These rewards can be used as Boosts.

The Magnet will automatically drag one correct person to the spot where they belong, when the spot is selected.

The Lightbulb allows you to select one of the hints to solve the question it's posing. The person will be placed in the correct space.

If you make any mistakes, you'll lose one heart.

If you run out of lives, you can choose to replenish one heart by watching an ad, or give up.

You can go to the main meny by using the Home icon.

You can change your sound and music settings by using the Settings icon.

This will open the settings menu.

Tips

Here are some tips to help you play:

1. Start With the Most Direct Clues

  • Begin with clues that explicitly state relationships like:

    • "Mary is John’s daughter."

    • "Alex is the only child of Sarah."

  • These are your anchor points to build from.

2. Use Process of Elimination

  • When a clue says "X is not Y’s sibling" or "Z is not married to A," note exclusions just as carefully as confirmations.

  • Ruling out possibilities often helps more than confirming one.

3. Work From Known Structures

  • Use known family structures (e.g. parent-child, spouses, siblings) to figure out others:

    • If A is B’s parent and C is B’s sibling, then A must be C’s parent too.

4. Use Boosts Only When You're Stuck

  • Since boosts are limited, save them for when you’ve hit a logical wall.

Scoring

Ancestral Lines has no scoring system. This game is meant to be a family puzzle game, without a specific scoring system or leaderboard. The game is incompatible with the regular competitive Arkadium leaderboards, and it's meant for simple fun progression.
