This article contains everything you need to know about Arkadium’s Waffle Game.
Use the list below to navigate specific topics about Waffle.
How to play
Waffle is a fun letter-matching game, where you place letters in specific positions to get words. Every day, there's a brand new puzzle. Rearrange the letters to complete all words in the grid.
Just like in Hurdle, the letter tiles will have different colors depending on whether they're in the correct positions.
You must drag and drop the letters in the puzzle to the correct position. Once all of the letters in a word are green, you will have solved that word. Solve all the words in the puzzle in 15 swaps or less.
Once you've solved all of the words in 15 swaps or less, you'll have won the daily puzzle! Every puzzle can be solved in a minimum of 10 swaps. Use the least amount of swaps to get a better result.
You'll be able to see all of your stats in the final screen. You will earn a star for every swap you have remaining once it's solved.
There are two different useable hints in the game.
The Undo allows you to undo your last move.
The Switch gives you one automatic letter swap in the correct position.
You can replay past stages in the game calendar.
Unlock a stage by watching an ad or paying 40 Gems.
The settings menu is on the top right of the screen.
There, you can change the sound settings or change the game's language.
As you beat more levels, you'll be able to unlock more bonuses by gaining stars.
Be sure to play each day to unlock a brand new daily bonus each time.
In the starting screen, you'll be able to see your number of stars and select either the Daily Challenge or past challenges.
We hope you have fun with Waffle!
Tips
Here are some tips on how to improve at Waffle.
1. Start with the Green Tiles
Green tiles are already in the correct position. Use them as anchors to figure out the surrounding words.
Try to build words around these tiles first.
2. Focus on Common Letter Patterns
Look for common prefixes and suffixes (like pre-, un-, -ing, -ed).
Identify common letter pairings (like th, ch, sh, qu, ck).
3. Think Both Horizontally and Vertically
Every move affects two words: one across and one down.
Before swapping, check how the change impacts both directions.
4. Work from the Outside In
Solving the edges and corners first can help lock in more letters.
These often give you more context for the center tiles.
Scoring
Waffle has no scoring system. This game is meant to be a fun letter-switching game, without a specific scoring system or leaderboard. The game is incompatible with the regular competitive Arkadium leaderboards, and it's meant for a fun daily puzzle.
