How to play
Color King is a fun color-switching game where you play a match of strategy against the computer. As soon as you load the game, you'll find plenty of options to choose from.
The coins you win in matches will be displayed on the top right. On the left, you'll find the Settings menu. Here, you can change the sound and music volume of the game, and change the game's language.
You can also click on the How To Play section, which will show you how to play the game.
The Customize section gives you different ball color tones to choose from. These provide you with different styles you can use for the main game. You can unlock them by paying with earned coins or watching ads, depending on the color palettes.
The Best Players section is an in-game leaderboard to show you the best scorers of the game. Make sure to try and reach first place!
NOTE: This is not an online leaderboard, it only functions with static scores made by the game itself.
Let's move onto the game itself. When starting a match, you'll be able to see the king's score, and your own score. Your objective is to score higher than the king.
To play, you must match balls of the same color. Click on a ball and move it to the desired spot. Look at the dotted line: The ball must have a clear path on the board to be moved. As you can see, after playing, more balls will be added to the board, making your task harder. The added balls in the next round appear on the right.
If you match 5 balls in a row, you will gain points, as seen below. Your pedestal will rise each time you do. If your ball has a coin, it will be added to your total.
You also have several different Boosts you can use.
Skip Next Balls skips the next 3 different balls that turn up in your turns. This way, you can play without worries.
Remove One Ball takes one ball from the board.
Regenerate Next Balls refreshes the 3 next balls in your turns, making them entirely different.
King's Ball generates a King's Ball, which is compatible with all colors.
Use these to your advantage and win the game!
Tips
Here are some tips on how to play better:
1. Plan Ahead & Control Spread
Every move brings three new balls—so think ahead.
Always aim to clear as many balls as possible early. This clears space and prevents board saturation.
2. Prioritize Longer Lines
Connecting longer lines nets higher points, so always look for opportunities to form six, seven, or more consecutive balls.
Extended lines not only boost your score but also thin out the board faster.
3. Use Corners and Edges Wisely
Corners and edges are harder to escape from once blocked.
Avoid placing random balls there unless you're forming a line. Keep those regions open for strategic connections.
4. Maintain Mobility
Ensure you leave open pathways for your balls to move.
Before making a move, check that potential placement spots are reachable—remember, balls can't teleport, they need a connecting path
5. Be Color-Agnostic Early On
Initially, focus on clearing any color that gives you a good line.
As the board fills up, pivot to prioritizing colors that are most abundant—this gives your moves more impact.
Scoring
Bubble Tower has no scoring system to compare to other players. This game is meant to be a fun single match game, without a specific outward scoring system or leaderboard. The game is incompatible with the regular competitive Arkadium leaderboards, and it's meant for simple fun matches.
