BACK TO THE GAME

This article contains everything you need to know about Arkadium’s Hex Sense Game.

Use the list below to navigate specific topics about Hex Sense.

How to play

Hex Sense is a fun puzzle strategy game to navigate a field of hazards to reach a goal.

When starting the game, you may choose to begin from the last played level, choose a level, or change the game settings, as seen below.

The game settings include being able to disable both sound and music for the game. Click on "close" to return to the menu.

As soon as you start playing, you'll see the game Tutorial. You can follow it through the arrows should you choose, or close it if you already know how to play.

This is Mochi. You must guide it through the hex puzzles to the exit.

Once you've arrived at the "Exit" tile, you'll finish the level.

Yellow tiles are closed and will hide yet unseen hazards.

White tiles are open and safe to move through.

If you've ever played the game "Minesweeper", you understand this principle: Some white tiles will have a number in them. This number represents the number of hazards around this tile. Use this information to understand where the hazards lie inside the yellow tiles.

In this case, given how all of the tiles seem to show a "1", and all tiles touch one specific yellow tile, the yellow tile that touches all of the "1" tiles must be the hazard. Avoid touching this tile.

For convenience, you can mark the tile with the right click or a long left click. This will help you note it as dangerous.

As soon as the path is clear, you can head straight for the exit!

After completing a level, you'll be able to see the hazard tiles you've correctly marked.

On top of the game board, you'll be able to click on the home icon to go back to the main menu, check your level progression on the bar, or revisit the tutorial with the question mark icon.

At the end of each level, you'll be scored on how well you do.

During the game, you can press the flag icon to highlight all of the tiles that still have a hazard, or the eye icon to reveal one hazard tile. You will have limited reveals, so use them wisely.

If you see a link icon, it means that the hazards are right next to one another, giving you a chance to discover them more easily.

Once you've gone through enough levels, you'll be able to unlock brand new chapters.

New chapters have brand new hazard icons. More challenges are waiting for you along the way!

Have fun playing Hex Sense!

Tips

Here are some strategies on how to get better at the game:

  • Take your time with the first few tiles. The opening moves often reveal enough clues to safely deduce several hazard-free tiles before taking risks.

  • Use the numbers wisely. Just like in Minesweeper, each number tells you how many hazards are adjacent — so pay close attention to patterns and shared borders.

  • Flag suspicious tiles. Right-click (or long-press) to mark hazards early. This helps prevent accidental moves and keeps your reasoning clear.

  • Look for the “link” icon. When hazards are connected, this hint can narrow down their positions and help you make faster deductions.

  • Save your reveals! The eye icon lets you uncover one hazard tile — but they’re limited, so use them strategically on tricky boards.

Scoring

Hex Sense uses a level progression system, and as such, it's not compatible with the Arkadium standard leaderboards.
